ParticipantThe soap dispenser in the door is filling with water when machine first switched on, before the tablet has dropped! This is causing the tablet to dissolve before actually being used!
Any ideas why??
Thankyou

The soap dispenser lid gasket maybe displaced? How come you know this anyway because by the time the machine completes its cycle the detergent should be all gone anyway? Unless that is that it hasn’t all gone in which case that is a different problem altogether. 😉

Husband thought he had forgotten to put tablet in ! That’s when he saw the water in the dispenser and the dissolving tablet!!
There doesn’t seem to be a gasket round the lid, hubby thinks there used to be a blue one a U shaped one, would that be right???
Thanks

You cannot buy the gasket separately, it comes with the lid assembly (see HERE. )
I still can’t figure though how you know you would see water in the dispenser? The dispenser sits vertically when the dishwasher door is shut so gravity would not allow water to sit in it whilst you open the machine door, it would all drain away…… Very odd!
The dispenser door does fully open during the wash cycle I hope?

Just running a test on dishwasher, just opened the soap dispenser door, after its been on for five minutes and its full of water?? Something strange is happening!! Could I need a new door for the the dispenser because it seems to be letting water in??

It sounds like the lid needs replacing to overcome the problem. But I still go back to my original queries and have to repeat, does the dispenser door actually open and is the dishwasher performing OK?

The door is open when cycle has finished, we noticed pots were not as clean as they usually are so that’s when we started investigating!!

I don’t think the problem is the dispenser then, more of a distraction, red herring even. Remove and clean both spray arms. And ensure you use salt in the water softener if you live in a hard water area (very important).
Do some programmes do better than others or do they all give poor results?
