    Hi
Any help appreciated. Our Caple C2900 oven has been overheating very badly of late. We set the temperature at say 160C but the element goes bright red and the oven heats to about 300C. We then switch the oven off but the element stays heated and just gets redder and redder, hotter and hotter. We need to flip the fuse to cut all power to the oven just to get it to stop heating.
Caple arranged for their (outsourced) service company Domex to fix it and the guy replaced the element. This was xmas eve. He said it wasn’t the thermostat.
Two months later, same problem. Domex again replaced the element on Tuesday of this week.
Two days (!) later (today, Thursday), same problem. Getting very frustrated.
Is this a known issue with this brand/model ? What else could it be other than the element ? Any help/suggestions greatly appreciated.

    Re: Caple C2900 – overheating

Our Caple 2900 was only 3 years old when we had the first experience of overheating, on Christmas Eve as well! The call out engineer reset part of the P/C/Board, all ok until this last easter when the Printed Circuit Board tripped again, the thermostat gave up & the element started glowing when the cooling fan packed up.
Overall a very disappointing & expensive experience with this Caple product.
We are now trying a SMEG 9351XR & hope it lasts a lot longer.
