    Hi
I’ve had some really great advice on this forum before and wanted to ask for help again.
I have the above washing machine model no WAE28363GB/02.
Over the weekend it developed a fault where it seems to go through a whole 40 degree cycle but without a spin at the end, it then shows 1 min remaining but never actually completes the cycle, the drum just rotates slowly in each direction with a small pause between. I then have to set the drain setting and then the spin setting. It seems to spin ok when set just to spin setting.
I’ve checked the obvious filter and waste pipe blockage. there was some stuff in the filter which I cleaned but the fault still remains. I changed the heating element 6 months ago, so I’m inclined to think its not that causing the issue.
Having browsed some of the forums it seems to suggest it could be brushes replacement or fault with the PCB.
Any ideas or suggestions to help with further diagnoses gratefully received, or if anyone knows of this problem and the potential fixes I’d love to hear them.
    Thanks in advance

More likely due to a drain time-out rather than worn brushes. The drum wouldn’t tumble if the brushes were gone (but check them anyway). Check the drain outlet is clear all the way through, from the tub to filter hose and on through the main drain outlet pipe and drain coupling (if it shares the sink drain or some such). Pump Impellor could also be worn causing the pump to be sluggish, hence the time-out. Finally if there is an insulation leak on the motor then that too could be to blame (test with 500dcvolt insulation tester).

I think that covers it. Have fun and if any of the above is beyond your ability don’t be afraid to call in us experts to fix it. There’s one in your area for sure!:D

    Hi Martin
Once again this forum has saved me a few bob and I’ve learnt a lot too! I removed the sump hose and gave it a really good clean and then removed the pump too to clean the inlets/outlets (power off and disconnected of course), there was a bit of gunk in there. I checked all the connections to make sure they were ok too. After reconnecting the hoses and trying it out on a cycle it worked well and completed a cycle with all the spins and drains where they should be.
Thanks again for the helpful advice, if there’s a way I can buy you a virtual beer let me know!
    You guys are diamonds!!
    Cheers
    GMG
