    ok the wvd saga continues,

finally got the bearing cross off (total strip down job with THE most awkward posistioned screws, so never again)

    the bearing seal states:
    35 . 72 . 9.5/16.5

which definitely doesnt correlate with UKWG’s pattarn bearing kit, or any of the other bearing kits out there (all europarts sourced?)

anyone know where i can find an identical seal, or was the wrong seal fitted by bosch which is why the bearings lasted about 3 and a bit years – water ingress not overloading “apparently”

Why didn’t you post in the thread you opened on the subject before I wonder. As I said in that thread, in Trade Spare Parts, that you could get a seal from your local bearing supplier. Just give him those numbers and that shouldn’t be a problem.

As for bearing failure/wrong seal fitted, Bosch aren’t in the habit of fitting wrong parts. Though it lasting 3 years is a good run and usually bearing changes afterwards only last months, 18 months would be my guess before they go again! 😉

Re: bosch washer dryers WVD models

1/ had lots of windows open, and then sheer laziness ensued once id noticed which is why it hasnt been rectified.

2/ been on the phone most of y/day to find one from various internet bearing and seal peoples. no one has heard of it.

3/ well they might not be in the habit when they have TQC but remember this isnt the pukka bosch stuff its the “built-under-license” kit.
Thats why im wondering why the ukwg bearing kit 05SS06 / BS05109 is listed as having:
    WASHING MACHINE BEARING KIT BOSCH
    Large Bearing 6306Z
    Small Bearing 6206Z
    Seal 35×72/84×11/18

    yet the one thats come out this oem spider cross (has 62062Z & 63062Z bearings) is a 35 . 72 . 9.5/16.5

so really i am hoping someone can tell me why the ukwg spares have a different size seal in the kit to the one thats been in this particular spider cross off this machine, and if anyone knows what size bosch are fitting to the OEM bearing/spider cross spart part now. Cos that would tidy up this query 😛

4/ 18mths isnt an issue as its being sold with the house. been given an extra couple of weeks now cos the new owners are in a chain. but in all honesty, we have sold plenty of wvds and most see out 5-8 years, 3 is a bit short!
