Hi, my FDF784 dishwasher has stopped working. It’s impossible to turn on. The power button feels wrong – there’s no resistance and it doesn’t make contact with the microswitch below.

I’ve stripped the door, and found that the button itself isn’t designed to make contact with the microswitch. Instead, part of the supporting plastic holder flexes to provide both the right resistance feel on the pushbutton, and a tab which onwards connects to the microswitch.

I’ve managed to remove the supporting plastic surround. I’m attempting to glue this, so far without success. This part is not clearly labelled, and the only marking I can see on it is ‘A2’.

Can anyone help with advice on a spare part?

You will love this, or perhaps not and understand why the Indesit Company who makes this has a pretty poor reputation in the trade.

Unless the piece you need is part of the facia then you will see from the picture that the whole shooting match is listed as one part, the oddly named ‘interface led digit’.

    A cool £91. :eeek:
Part number if you really want it is C00260819.

botched in a match to press it. Will do until we replace the unit.
