Hi, a little over a week ago I fitted a jockey wheel to my Hotpoint dryer as the center hole had enlarged making the pulley wobble and throw the belt. I ordered a new pulley (iirc it was qualtex branded)which lasted a week and threw the belt again.

I opened the dryer to find the pulley wobbly again and it appears to have stopped turning at some point as there is a deep groove/burn on it where the belt has been moving across it.

Can anyone advise whether there is another fault somewhere or if its possible been a faulty/inferior part? All other aspects of the dryer appear to be fine.

The dryer in question is a Hotpoint TCL780G(UK). The entire jockey wheel assy was changed not just the wheel itself

    Thanks

Sounds like a cheap pattern part, never had problems but I only use gen parts.

Thanks iadom, that’s my opinion too so I’ll order up a genuine pulley and see how it goes. Thanks for the reply.
