    Hi,

    I’ve got a 7 year old Bosch machine, WAE28162GB/11

The machine still does work OK but I’m concerned about the recent increase in volume coming from it during operation.

    1. When it transitions from wash to spin it bangs about 4 or 5 times before it settles into the spin.

    2. There is also a high pitched whine during operation which can come and go during the cycle and also changes pitch

For 1 would replacing the springs/shock absorbers fix this?

For 2 is it the main drum bearings on their way out? The main bearings went on my previous machine and it not as noisy as that. Could it be the motor?

    Any advice much appreciated.
    Colin.

try spinning it with no washing in it

if it makes a banging noise with no clothes in it is probably a drum problem if not its probably suspension

the whining noise is probably the motor bearings which can be made quieter with a quick sqirt of WD40

    Hi

    Thanks for your reply.

I put it on spin empty and there was no banging so looks like its a suspension issue.

When looking at the motor would it be worth doing the brushes while I’m there? I estimate the machine has done about 1100 cycles on the original brushes.

take one brush out and have a look at it. be careful the brushes can go in 2 ways and only 1 is correct
