Not sure which model yet, one of the first with the drop down door.
It seems on cancelling any program the machine enters drain mode and stays there indefinitely…push the door button at any time and the same thing happens, consequently the only way to open the door is using the emergency pull chord. Switch it off at the power switch and on again it resets and programs normally, even doing a full normal wash cycle before hanging on the drain again.
Any suggestions before i go and try a pcb reset?

    PCB reset first Clive.

Then look to the pressure switch hose being blocked holding the overfill protection open.

Then the overfill protection switch. But, they don’t fail very often at all as they rarely operate and it’s the big old mechanical one.

If that’s working check the connections to the NTC (above the motor on the bottom of the drum) and the connections on the pressure sensor, which is the small one. They can get gunked up, especially the NTC one, if the customer overloads/overdoses but you’ll usually see residues in the base if that’s the case.

Same story if it’s somewhere silly and there’s high humidity, doesn’t play nice with the electronics.
