Hello , we’ve had some issues with a Neff double oven , in that first reported fault was bottom oven not heating , turned out to be a o/c fan oven ring . This resolved the problem for a day or so , then the high temp limiter blew as the machine wasn’t stopping heating , this was replaced as well as the PTC , this again worked on test but customer rang a day or so later to say her kitchen was full of smoke (slight exaggeration)and that the oven was glowing red hot !!! Now it heats to requested temp i.e. 180 c then stops heating and cools to about 80-90 c . where it stays . Any suggestions , maybe electronic control brd. ?????
    Any help gratefully received .
    Best regards , Phil .

this is a train of bad new by the sound of it

from what you say you have replaced everything except the board. if the new ptc was now faulty it would not reach required temp before failing so it comes down to the board not turning element back on when it cools.
my only thought is the relay on the board that controls element. Did old element go bang and damage it ?

Thank you Dave , fairly much come to that conclusion , but very nice to have my thoughts and suspicions confirmed . Should have investigated beyond the element !! Once again , Cheers !!!
    Best regards Phil
