ParticipantHello,
I have a noisy frost free fridge freezer, model number: HAIER CFE633CS/U.
It’s almost 4 years old. I noticed a few months ago, when I returned from christmas holidays that is was suddenly noisier than before. It’s difficult to describe the sound- I think it just sounds like a motor running. Sometimes when I open the fridge door, the noise stops for a short time.
I opened the panel at the back of the freezer, after removing the drawers & there doesn’t seem to be a problem with ice. There is a black fan which seems to be the one to blow air forward through the panel into the freezer & there was no ice on this at all. I understand there is another fan, but I think this may have been hidden- or I wasn’t looking for it near the wires etc before closing it up.
Can anyone give me some suggestions as to what might be causing the noise- do you think it might be repairable/ expensive?
Any help will be much appreciated, Thank you.

Just to expand on my noisy fridge freezer……
I have been doing some research & realised that as the noise is much louder when I open the freezer door, & I listened at the back of the fridge, I feel pretty confident it’s not the compressor, as the noise is coming more from inside the freezer.
From what I’ve read, & considering there was no ice behind the freezer panel when I checked, I am guessing I might need to replace the fan/ fan motor for whatever reason.
Does anyone have an indication of what this might cost- if this is indeed the problem?
Thank you,

Yes Belinda, it is likely to be a fan issue.
The problem is that there is little service info on Haier and not too many of them out there or, at least that we ever see anyway, hence not a lot of help available.

The SERVICE MANUAL is conveniently located in the public domain so download it and it may just help. 😉

The most simple way is to try a 48 hour defrost.
Find someone to look after your food and turn it off and leave the doors open for 48 hours.
When you turn it back on it should sound ok.
