ParticipantCouldn’t find anything on the search but maybe my term was to generic. I’m generalizing here but modern door interlocks all seem roughly the same and all have contacts 1 2 & 3. The wires are the same thickness and some times the same colours.
Is there a recognized setup for the pins because with today’s machines all the wires goes to the pcb so you couldn’t identify them anyway. and where you do have two wires the same colours does that mean that they are live & switched live?
However, for a more precise question, i have a bosch w/m wfl2462 with suspect door lock and wanted to bypass it for confirmation and this led to the above query.cheers.

Yes generally you have L, N and a switched live on most interlocks. Never attempt to short them out. You could do that on those of yesteryear with cam switch box timers, not on the modern day electronic programme modules.
As for the Bosch, the interlocks are only a tenner trade so you’re not sticking your neck out too far by buying one and plugging it in to try I reckon. 😉

thanks Martin, i’ve ordered one now anyway. so we have sealed tubs, untestable door locks, modules that come with a blank memory, i’m guessing the next thing will be one piece cabinets so you can’t do anything to it!

Often than not the wires are all the same colours, white for instance so you have to work out which wires are live, Neutral and switched live, as Martin points out it would be all too easy to short the wrong connectors and damaged the Control unit, of course if one had a circuit diagram it could be done.

DPR1974 your spot on. I reckon within 5 years. A sealed disposable basic 5 kg 1200 washing machine in white, pink, lime green etc..for less than 150 quid including delivery with a warranty of one year and he or she who can stretch their machine to work for for 4 years gets a discount off a new one on a buy back scheme for recycling. Actually it`s a great idea and much more eco friendly, in a way, that spending a fortune on a washer. The bic Biro of the pen world here we come. Actually I`ve seen a brand new machine under the Electra label ( 800 spin Vestel made ) for £120 within the last 5 months.
