I bought this cooker on Saturday as a stop gap appliance to use for a few months. It was very cheap as it has been used outside and is rusty in places. It came with a regulator for the propane / butane mix bottle gas we have in Hungary and I already had a suitable bottle of gas.
There are a couple of issues, the most serious being that there is too big a flame on simmer. There are 3 sizes of burner but even on the smallest size on lowest flame, frying sausages they were getting brown within 20 seconds or so. I’m wondering if it is jetted for methane?
I light it with a match and have to hold the knob in for 10 to 20 seconds or else the flame dies when I release it. I do not have much experience with using gas cookers so this might be normal for all I know. I do have another gas cooker but it is a very simple Flavel caravan stove made in 1976.

An old rusty cooker that is regulated for both propane and butane and yet MIGHT be jetted for methane??? For Christ’s sake don’t fart whilst your sausages are burning will you otherwise you and it may be one massive flame……!
Do yourself a favour, scrap it and search Hungary for a brand new cooker before anything bad happens.
