Hi guys. So I’m repairing my mum’s stuff(as usual :rolls:), this time a Hotpoint CTD00. She says it’s been making a grinding noise for weeks. It’s stopped spinning completely now so I’ve taken it apart. Ended up finding that the problem is one of the motor bearings and I’ve removed and disassembled the motor to confirm this. Regarding the bearing, the word crunchy comes to mind 😀

Anyway, the problem is I’ve been searching and I’m not even sure I can get this part? There appears to possibly be some of the motors floating around for more £££ than I care to think about. It seems like I should be able to get the right bearing though. Is this possible? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The ball race has a number stamped on it, usually on outer sheath. That number required to find a replacement. Both motor bearings are usually the same so take it off the other one if you can’t locate that number.

Doh, the number was right there covered in dirt and grime :rolls:

Thanks for that; I’ve sourced a replacement.
