We have a Samsung side by side RSHD1BBP. The fridge didn’t feel cold enough to me, although there was a build up of ice in it on the back left which I assumed was caused by overfilling and blocking the air vent.
I defrosted the fridge, although thought I could still see some ice through the air vent.
Now turned back on for 48 hours and it will not cool down properly – the temperature is fluctuating with with room temperature, but not going lower then 10 degrees.
I called an engineer and they have offered me some advice in a very brief chat. I would like a second opinion, if at all possible.
What would you advise me to do? You have more information here than the engineer on the phone received.

You will need to leave it turned off for 48 hours with the doors open to defrost it fully.
It will be a problem with the defrost system.
It may need a new back panel or have a problem with the heater.
If you use the search on this site for your model you will find lots of advice.
Or you can just put Samsung RSH1 faulty in Google search you will find lots of information.

Many thanks for your reply, Bob. I was told just to defrost it, although not told why and also that it would be fine once I had done this.
The engineer said they could speed up the process of defrosting, but it would be costly. Any way of speeding it up myself?

No way to speed it up without a steamer and dismantling it.
Not a DIY job.
The only way is to turn it off for 48 hours with the doors open.
This will only solve the problem on a temporary basis as you will need to solve the problem of iceing up.
May need a new rear panel in the fridge.
