Could anybody tell me the wiring configuration of the 3 wires going to the fan oven element. Two whites with red stripe and one single white with black stripe. Customer has connected wires incorrectly (has an old fusebox as well) and massive bang blowing selector switch and god knows what else. can identify one live from clock out through to element but neutral cant get reading.

Blown selector and oven timer I shouldn’t wonder. Neutral return blown right back through to the mains terminal block like a long fuse to a stick of dynamite. 🙁

I expect clock as well. Goin back with selector first, would save time if i knew what colours go on which terminals of fan oven element.

Are you saying you don’t know the answer to that question? One element, two terminals, three wires, two of the three both are white with a red tracer the other is white with a black tracer. Hmmmm, I wonder? :rolls:

Ok replaced double blown selector switch found switched neutral continuity on white with black tracer and live feed on one white with red tracer. 2nd white with red tracer feeds live to main oven grill and top oven element. I dont think ive ever had to work it out before now. Funnily enough the customers old element was not faulty! Gave customer a lesson on not using top oven with wires hanging out in lower oven!
    Many thanks
