Hi I have Whirlpool Creations AWM 324/3 that won’t run, the power light is on but nothing happens.
A friend of mine gave it to me; they were having trouble with it not letting water out so they bought a new washer. Some time later he checked the rubber hose by the pump and found money in it, money was in the trap also removed the money started the washer and everything was ok, put the washer in the shed as a spare.
About 3 months later I got the washer off them plumed it in and nothing, press the on/off button the light comes on and stays on, but the washer dose nothing. Dose not even try to take in water.

    Any advice would be welcome

First thing to check is the door interlock. When you switch it on does the door lock? If not, your problem lies there. If it does, do you hear a buzzing sound from the inlet valves?

When I switch on the machine press the on/off button the light comes on and the washer door still opens.

    Hi John,
The doors on these machines are not flush. What i do is Get a large flat blade screw driver and a cloth. With the door closed place the cloth on the left hand of the rim and put the screw driver in a move the door to the right. This will push the hook in the door interlock and make it a better fit. Be careful not to push too hard as you will crack the outer rim of the door.

    Hi Sparky
Did what you said, the door did move fractionally to the right but still the machine did not run.
    Thanks for the response though.

    OK John,
The interlock has probably failed – not an uncommon problem. If you contact spares@ukwhitegoods.com you will be able to source a replacement. Not TOO dear from memory and this is a decent appliance.

    Re: Whirlpool won’t run

    Hi just an update
My new Interlock arrived today, removed the old one from the washer and they look nothing alike the new one has two connectors, white three spade connector on the top of the unit and a brown and black three spade connector at the bottom.
My old interlock has only one three spade connector on the bottom.

Is this the wrong Interlock I have not attempted to try and connect the new one just in case it damages the washer even more.

My washer is the whirlpool Creations AWM 324

    Hi John,
Does your old interlock have a wire to connect for the top and a one for the bootom. If it does do not put the new one on. The one at the top is for the machine when used on a cotton wash to open during the first 15-20 mins of a cycle so if you forget to put anything in you can actually open the door and the machine will stop. When it heats to 40 degrees the door locks and continues with the door locked. a synthetics or wool cycle it locks straight away. Anyway if you onle have one connector for the interlock it is interchangable.

    Re: creations AWM 324

Can you help – Timer dail has gone – I am using pliers to turn washing machine cycle timer round. The old one is just swivelling round – I have since found it has broke off the pivotal arm – there is just a piece of metal that i grasp with the plier.

Where can I get a new timer dial – and how much are they

    Pat,
Providing you haven’t thrown the remains of the knob away, the part required is called the knob adaptor – p/no 4812 413 18198. An email to spares@ukwhitegoods.com quoting that number will sort out price and availability for you.
