I would be grateful for any suggested suspect areas to investigate on a problem with a Bosch SHV4 dishwasher not ending its wash cycle. In the the last few times it takes hours to end but most water seems to go.
I have dismantled the inside filters and cover to the impeller and can see that the impeller is working but when another wash cycle is tried the impeller works but water is not cleared.
Can a pump fail but the impeller still work?
Or is a blockage more likely?
Thanks for any suggestions.
Re: Bosch dishwasher SHV4 3A03CB/42 pump not stopping
It is important to ensure the pump cover is screwed in place before testing, otherwise it won’t work! You might like to try removing the one way flap valve (temporarily) and try blowing down the the drain hose to ensure it is clear. Or, if connected to a sink outlet, take that off and check for fat blockages???
Re: Bosch dishwasher SHV4 3A03CB/42 pump not stopping
Thanks for your helpful suggestion Martin. I found some weird hard lumps probably calcium partly blocking the sink trap spigot by the outlet end of the hose. Ran it with a cleaner a few times and – touch wood – it seems to be back to normal.
So it was probably due to this partial blockage upsetting the bosh. They don’t like it up em!
