Hi chaps. New to the forum, so hello.

I’ve got a problem with a mixed fuel Leisure cooker and I have to say it’s got me stumped.

The main oven function works correctly, the problem is with the grill, this also works correctly until you attempt to turn it off, when it trips the RCD.

I have checked the selector switch and stat and I have found no earth leakage on the appliance at all.

    Anyone have any ideas?

    Thanks. BP

What test equipment have you used to establish there’s no leak? Have you checked the element?

I’ve meggered the whole appliance, right from the terminal block, all elements, fan, etc with all various functions operating and it’s all clear. I’m starting to wonder whether it’s a faulty rcd.

Does sound like the selector, but it’s a very awkward call without seeing it.
The way I’m thinking is everything is working ok until you have switched it off so the only thing that you have changed is the position of the selector. If it was the grill element or stat etc then surely they would go when you either switched them on or when in use not when you turned them off. Might be wrong but that is where I would start looking first. As I say a tricky one at best.
Faulty rcd is not that common, you can get sensitive ones, but you would need a proper test meter to determine if it is faulty ie testing it at 0.5, x1 and x5 plus it’s trip time in milliseconds etc then cross check it against the regs etc to see if it is within its tolerance.
    Cheers
    Phil
