KeymasterHelp!!!! I am trying to replace the fan and motor on my Neff built in oven bit cannot remove the front fan (the one in the oven) from the motor. I cannot remember the part number but I am sure all Neff fan ovens will be similar. On the front fan there is a nut and washer but I cannot slacken this off. Any help would be appreciated.

sorry. I also meant to mention that the reason I am changing it is because it seems to stick at startup but eventually it gets going (with a little help!!!) would oiling the bearings help?? if so is there a particular type of oil I should use?? 💡

First of all, it is a left handed thread. Even when undone, it will probably be difficult to get the fan off the shaft. Lubrication of the bearings will definately not help. A new fan motor is the only solution – sorry 🙁
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ISOLATE IT FROM THE MAINS BEFORE WORKING ON IT.

Thanks AMS
I’ll try slackening it the other way now 😳 I’ll also get a new motor / fan. These are priced at £60 from neff. Is that a good buy??February 21, 2005 at 2:14 pm #126692Dave_Conway

Yes, that’s about the right price for those motors 😉

…and really stubborn aluminium fans only come off by carefully drilling two or three holes down around and touching the steel motor shaft…that usually takes the tension off and with some twisting it should come free!

Easier to apply a little heat from blow lamp, rather than drilling.
