I have been having some trouble with my above mentioned washing machine. I bought this new 2 1/2 years ago with no problems until now. I had a wash on while I was out and came back to find the lights flashing rapidly on the machine and the machine hadn’t finished the wash and still had some water in. I tried to put on a drain cycle but this failed and the lights flashed again. After painstakingly slowly emptying my drenched clothes and all the water (with a jug!) i took the front of the machine off to check the pump – no problems noticed there. I have also looked at the back of the machine and notice no kinks in tubing or anything (the machine hasn’t been moved since I installed it). Once the machine was empty I tried to start a spin cycle to help me determine if it was a spin or drain problem. The machine began to spin slowly but at the point where it would kick in for a big spin the machine dies and the lights begin to flash. The lights across the top from left to right show as: 1 – Eco (green), 2- Intensive (green), 3 – Extra rinse (green), 4 – Delay timer (green), 5 – Start/pause (orange). There is no pattern or sequence in the flashing of the lights. The lights down the right hand side which are lit but do not flash are Spin, Lock and End. I followed the instructions in the manual which are to unplug the machine, wait for a bit and try again. This did not work, the problem persists when trying to start the spin cycle.
If anyone has any ideas what this could be I’d really appreciate some advice!

Can you give us the number sequence of the right hand vertical lights from BOTTOM to TOP. is it 1-2-3 or 1-2-4, using the lock light as number 1.

yeah sure, there is no numbering on the machine, but from bottom to top the lights are as follows:
1. Lock
2. End
3. Drain/12 hour delay
4. Spin/9 hour delay
5. Rinse/6 hour delay
6. Wash/3 hour delayThen above this is the start/pause button from the top row.
EDIT: I just re-read your reply and it makes more sense now I have numbered all lights. As you already said, it works out as 1, 2 and 4.

Fault code is F11,…’pump cannot be activated, check pump and wiring’.
When you checked the pump filter did you look right inside at the pump impellor at the back of the chamber, hair grips and bits of bra wire will often get stuck in the impellor and prevent the pump from running.
Shine a torch inside and have a good look, check if the pump impellor will rotate correctly, it should not spin freely but flick round easily in 1/4 turns.
The error codes are used on both washers and washer dryers so the lights are often for different functions but the error codes remain the same. 😉

If it is clear then the pump may have failed, it needs testing electrically to be certain.
If the pump is OK then sadly the main circuit board could be at fault. 🙁

Ok, there is nothing stuck at the back of the chamber and the impellor is rotating nicely in 1/4 turns.

quick question, where abouts exactly do we need to measure the resistance from. my partner is an engineer on the train so is used to multimeter etc but not the features of washing machines!
never mind we figured it out. there is no resistance getting to the pump. off we go to order a new one! thanks for the advice

You don’t check resistance to the pump, you check for continuity to the pump.
You check the pump itself, isolated from the wiring connections for resistance.

Multimeter across the two pump terminals of course. Fear not, your engineer partner will have figured that already. 😉

yeah he had lol.
ok, so the new pump is fitted. we put it on a empty quick wash but the machine stopped again full of water. 🙁 we emptied this all again and out of curiosity i put the machine on the spin cycle – which now works perfectly. so we have some improvement from before the new pump was fitted.
we have double checked the waste hose by disconnecting it and running water through it which was fine, nothing blocking it. we also seem to be getting a different set of error lights. the lights on the top from left to right are the same as before. But from bottom to top, there is now only one light lit which is number 1. any ideas before we ditch it and buy a new one?

fault F01, motor triac fault. Could just be loose contacts, possibly disturbed when working on it. Check all wiring connections and squeeze the connector plugs gently.
