    Hi,

I have a Hotpoint WT960 bought in 2006. It’s worked fine until now.
It starts a cycle and then at some point will turn itself off. Turning it back on will start it going again but it again will turn itself off.

There are no error codes on the display when this happens. Everything inside looks OK, no loose connections or anything.

Any help or advice appreciated! Thanks. 😕

13amp plug duff or wall socket?

I’ll try replacing the plug if you think it could be that. The wall socket is also used for a kettle (only one device is plugged in at any one time) with no problems.

update: the machine won’t turn on at all now. The plug and 13A fuse are OK. I’m told that before it died completely it made ‘a funny noise’. I wasn’t here at the time.

Typical symptoms then of the main circuit board failing. 🙁

…and further investigations reveal a four legged IC on the main PCB had blown up.

So a new machine is on the cards. At least I can use the door glass from this one as a fruit bowl.

………and the inner drum makes for a perfect basket for growing strawberries. Just punch a few large holes around the side so each plant can poke through. You’ll be just in time for this seasons 2nd crop. 😉
