I suspect that the carbon brushes on my Panasonic MCE 3002 vacuum cleaner are worn out.
So I’m trying to get at the motor to inspect them.
I’ve removed all the screws that hold the two parts of the motor cover together. But I can’t manage to get the motor cover off! 🙁
Does anyone know of a step-by-step guide to getting access to the motor? It seems there is a plastic bearing that holds the swivelling part of the vacuum cleaner base in place on the non-shaft side of the motor. There should be a way to un-clip this plastic bearing to release it, but I can’t figure out how.
Any advice would be welcome! After 50 years of repairing electrical goods, I’m not normally stumped, but this one is foxing me at the moment.
Are there any other vacuum-cleaner diy repair websites that might offer help and advice?

From memory,we don’t carry out many Panasonic repairs but i’m sure that plastic bearing just prizes off with a large bladed screwdriver
