    Hi,

new to forum. Hope someone can help. My dishwasher is a Beko DWD 5140w

Silly question really, BUT, I can’t get the drain pump off. There doesn’t seem to be any screws holding it on .

It looks like it is some kind of twist and lock onto tabs on the housing. BUT for the life of me , I can’t seem to twist it more than a 1/16th of an inch. I’m sure I could lever it off with a flat blade screwdriver , but I don’t want to break the tabs off the housing , that would be the end of the whole bloody thing.

It is not very old, I am assuming that, that is the problem , crud in the impeller, but if anyone knows of another common cause of no draining on these machines, please let me know. I have checked the impedance on the impeller motor. it’s 155 ohms. I’m guessing that is about right . ? So I’m assuming the motor would spin if it could.

IS there some hidden screw to remove the impeller housing , is it twist off, etc. Is there some sort of latch that needs to be lifted to enable it to turn off. ? Or a tab that needs to be depressed, or god forbid, a special tool ?

Any help much appreciated. Thanks Dave.

Yes it’s just a bayonet fix, lift the locking tab slightly then twist 10 – 15 degrees and pull away. No force required whatsoever.
