My zanussi fridge freezer which I thought was a good make is not cooling. Its 4 years old and not economical to repair as its frost free and only service force and repair care will deal with it at £130+.

I’ve decided to scrap it but what would you advise. Budget £200- £400 Max.

Would a frost free or Normal fridge freezer be preferable?

I’ve read bad reviews about indesit, hot point, beko most of them. I looked in Curry’s. The man was rushed but said the Samsung one for £399 with 10 year guarantee for the compressor was good.

I store quite a bit of veg and salad and drinks being vegetarian.

What could you recommend please? There’s a beko with drinks dispenser for £300.

    Thanks.

    Hi

You haven’t said what width of appliance you are looking for?

Personally I would not go for frost free as they tend to be less reliable. The best machine I know of in a 600mm wide and coming in right on budget woulkd this Bosch.

It’s a well made product for the price and comes with the normal Bosch two year guarantee.

Thanks for that. what would you recommend in the £300 price bracket. I know I said £400 but still a lot of money. I’m just looking at different options. I know Beko fridges had a fire risk but I read somewhere that which now recommends them. They do look a bit cheap. My zanussi I think is 55 width.

    Hi

Take a look at the Hotpoint RFAA52P which is 55cm wide.

Hi what do you think of this one please? Its got a 5 year warranty on it. As my old one didn’t last 5 years it might be handy having that. Thank you for your time.

    Hi

I don’t know enough about Samsung products to be able to comment on durability etc.

I thought I would check out the 5 year warranty details and found the following.

” This offer only applies to the purchase of new (not second-hand) Samsung products of
the following types, which are sold by selected retailers in the UK or Republic of Ireland
    between 1st May 2013 and 31st May 2014″.

Sorry to be the kiljoy 😉

BOSCH – Classixx KGV33NW20GB Fridge Freezer – White

I’ve gone for this one,the one you recommended. It came back in stock in Curry’s at reduced price of £358.
Funny thing is it said it wasn’t available to deliver in my area. Then I went back later and the next day to deliver came up and that was Ok!

I read somewhere I could have claimed fridge repair on my insurance. I never thought of that. I’d still have huge excess fee. Anyway thanks for your time and advice. 😀

Sorry one more thing. Would you advise getting the care plan in case it gets a fault. Didn’t realise how expensive fridge freezer repairs are.
