ParticipantHave first problem with this (approx) 14 year old machine.
Symptoms are that machine runs through cycle, filling, spraying emtying etc but water remains coild. Element does heat up at end (dry cycle). Suspect problem with thermostat.
Q1 Is it sensible to spend money on 14 yr old machine ?
QI Any advice on diagnosis ?
Q3 Is it possible for user (DIY expierienced) to buy parts for Miele ?Any help / advice will be appreciated.

There is a good chance that it is only the high pressure; pressure stat blocked or failed (usually due to grease build up).
Not particularly expensive (but no Miele part is cheap) but it would be a shame to scrap a good dishwasher for such a small part.
Not really a diy job though.
try and find an engineer on: http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/search/fi … ineer.htmlFebruary 22, 2005 at 5:45 pm #126835komadori

Thanks for advice. Sadly no engineer listed for this area (Brighton – BN1). Is it best to use Miele own service or try the yellow pages lottery?

If you cannot find anyone that knows about these machines then Miele will be the only option.

😀
Thanks for your help Mark. Noting your comments in first reply about possible blockage of sensor I decided on one more try before adding to Miele service department profits. I put three kettles of boiling water in bottom of machine, with one regular dish wash tablet, and then set machine on wash cycle. Surprise surprise, towards the end the now tepid water started heating up.I did another complete hot wash with empty machine as added flush clean, and now all seems to be working OK.
I am posting this hoping it may help someone else in the future.
