    Hi

I have just received the following from a manufacturer. Has UKW any gudiance for its membership how to approach it with its members falling foul of the law.

As you will no doubt be aware, the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013 (Regulations) come into force on 13 June 2014. These Regulations apply to online and phone sales of goods and services and impose various requirements around information disclosure to consumers as well as an extension to the cooling off period.
As a supplier of repair services to ******** Appliances customers we ask that you undertake the following:
    • Please advise of the steps you have taken to ensure that your online/phone sales processes will comply with the Regulations
    • Please provide a copy of the amended processes
    • Provide us with a copy of your terms and conditions as amended to comply with the Regulations

    Re: Changes in Consumer Law

Surely the contract is between you and the manufacturer and retailer, not the customer?

If that changes to the customer then I would have thought that the manufacturer or retailer would have advised.

    K.
