We have an almost new AEG machine L75670 which is working fine but I have foolishly washed a shirt with a pair of cufflinks still attached. Needless to say not quite all the parts have reappeared and the stem of one is missing. So it’s about an inch long and 5mm or so at its widest point.
I opened up the drain pump access (not nearly as good a design as the little tube on the previous aeg machine) but only found a button. So I thought maybe its too big to go through but then again the button is larger than any of the holes I can see in the drum.
It is possible it isn’t in the machine at all but I feel it probably is.

So the question is, if it hasn’t got through to the drain pump where is it and what damage is it going to do to our nice new machine?

Cufflinks and such will disappear down the front edge of the drum under the door seal lip. Generally large items like this can jam and rattle between the tub and drum. Cufflinks then would get mangled and fall into the sump, bits of which eventually appear in the drain filter. Smaller pieces will rust and get stuck somewhere in between. Little emergency access on these as they have a welded tub that cannot be dismantled. 🙁

    Thanks for the reply.
Not exactly what I wanted to hear. Can I see this gap at the front?

Yes if you fold back the lip of the grey rubber door seal.
