ParticipantWhere could I get good quality replacement hotplates from? Don’t fancy spending £200 on 4 genuine parts.
The fast heat are slow and don’t seem to get that hot anymore and the normal ones are all pitted for some reason.
Thanks.June 16, 2014 at 3:48 pm #415311Martin

Never knew about that. Thanks. Very much cheaper than from Creda.
Cheers Martin.

Gonna order a couple of the plates next week after payday but want to make sure I can remove the top plate they are mounted to.
Two Philips screws at the back edge and two on each side towards the front. Trim refuses to budge. Looks like its held at the front centre. Can anyone guide me as to what is next move, apart from cleaning the 10 year crud buildup 😀

That’ll be all that’s stopping it I expect.

Tried again and it seems there is a hidden clip or screw right smack in the middle at the front. If I pull, the metal trim bends where it is held.
I’ll have another look tomorrow when no one is looking over my shoulder. Shame I haven’t got a service manual for it.
Oh, and this is why I need to change them.

I’m not familiar with the model but could be a central screw fixing under the hot plate cavity?

The control panel comes off to access the screws if I remember correctly

I’ll remove the front panel and check.

Nope, front panel doesn’t need to come off but the side panels do. They reveal the 4 screws holding the hob in place.
Only downer is original hob wires are soldered to posts not screwed like I’ve seen in YouTube vidz.

Hoovered up all that rust that had come off the hob plates while I was at it. Looks like 3 definitely need replacing but may as well do all 4.

Can all 4 be the red spot ones or is that too much?

Just one more thing to diagnose before I order parts.
In the last 6 months or so, once I have finished using the grill (door open of course), the cooling fan keeps going for a lot longer than it use to. Goes on for 10 minutes.
What could cause this and is it a part I can buy and change myself?
Thanks R. -
