repair question

I’m new to the forum so forgive me if this is not permitted but I need some help

I have miele twist vacuum. Best vacuum I’ve ever owned. So glad I asked some people on a vacuum forum before buying, as before that I thought the dyson was a good vacuum.

anyway, here’s my problem. It’s not picking up. I’ve ripped this thing apart and i can’t figure out where the blockage is.

I first pulled the head off and one thing I despise is the cheap screws they used for that. First off they’re star screews, but two of them stripped the first time removing them. Thankfully I have some tools to dig into stripped heads, and i got them off.

I cleared the section in the head unit. it wasn’t plugged but it was dirty.

I then removed the hose, and there was a blockage there. Those are the only two points of contact I can find.

I put it back together and I noticed it wasn’t picking up. I looked, and the meter on the front that shows red as the suction lowers, was pegged. so it’s blocked. I stopped the head, and pulled the hose off, the meter dropped and suction on the hose was perfect.

So there is a clear problem in the head somewhere, and it’s either blocked, or something is broken and not allowing it to work. The bar with brushes turns correctly and is not tight. there are no strigns or other things wrapped around it, i’ve cleared it as much as i can, but i do see that when i start it, the suction under the foot is non-existant.

Honestly I can’t afford to go to a shop, i’m sure it would be expensive. But i don’t know what else I could possibly do?

anyone know these machines and have any ideas? it’s a Miele twist 700.
