Morning all you generous, good-looking and helpful people!

Over the winter my fridge freezer was constantly icing up, with a big iceberg forming on the back wall inside the fridge, the same around the freezer element, and a thin layer of ice under the veg drawer (with watery veggies like cucumber actually freezing). I defrosted but it was happening again fairly soon after. Now the weather has warmed up it is struggling to get down to temperature, even with the control turned up to max – things in the fridge are cool but not properly ‘cold’ if that makes sense and the freezer element has only patchy ice on it.

Throughout I’ve noticed that the front panel of the bit that separates the fridge and freezer sections is warm, verging on hot, to the touch and water is collecting under the veg drawer, sometimes running into the drawer – presumably from the rear wall.

I’ve also noticed that, on opening the fridge door, the temp control / lightbulb housing sometimes feels very warm.

Many thanks for any advice, Andy

You need to check the door is turning off the light switch.

If you have a phone with a camera put it on vidio and put it in the fridge then close the door for five seconds.

Open the door and take the phone out and play back the vidio to see if the light goes off.

Also check the drain hole inside at the back of the fridge to make sure it is not blocked so the water can run away.

    Thanks

    Bob
