    I have a vintage 1937 GE fridge.
Haven’t had it working for a while. It was in storage. Switched it on, the compressor seems to be purring fine, but the refrigerant does seem to be moving. I can hear it trying but the condenser is not getting warm. Any ideas. Really don’t want to let it go.

    Hi Karl

Hi Bryan . Thanks for your reply. Am in Brighton Sussex. Don’t think there was a leak. Thought maybe a blockage? Not sure how to find someone to look at it. Karl

    Hi Karl

If your prepared to bring it or meet at some point with it then I can have a look,The last one I repaired was a 1945 fridgidaire which is still working after a few years.

Hi Bryan. I have switched her on again. Then tilted forward and gave a good bump down. No professional treatment I’m afraid. But the refrigerant is circulating well. Instantly got cold. The compressor seems very hot. Do you think that’s normal while the temperature is reached from warm. Shall test . Any problems, really appreciate you’d be ok servicing her. Cheers karl
