ParticipantThe Grill fan keeps blowing out cold air. Even when the grill is off. It has been doing this constantly for two days now.
Is it something i need to clean or a faulty switch?
The cooker is 3 years old and is a dual fuel double oven. The top oven is also the grill.Cheers,
Garry

The thermal cut out that operates the cooling fan needs replacing by the sound of it.

Thanks for the quick response,
I was looking at this part: http://www.partmaster.co.uk/hotpoint/hu … ref=924133
I have seen a video on how to get the top off an electric cooker:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JYln4FzJPdkMy cooker is Dual Fuel.
I have 2 questions
1. Where would i find this thermostat and if its under the top is is hard to get at on a Gas top?
Thanks again,
Garry

Garry the TOC is located near the cooling fan, as your pic shows. I’m not Gas Safe registered so I don’t touch gas appliances. But at least you’ve have more than enough info now to get stuck in, should you take the DIY route.

hi, I have the same problem with my hud 61x, however the Thermal cut in is fine, I have disconnected it and the fan still kept running, took it out of the cooker and tested with a multi meter and heat source – switch in and out as it should. I have disconnected the other feed from the grill control switch and the fan has stopped – so I assume the switch is now faulty but cannot identify the correct replacement switch/control (lots of similar looking ones varying in price from £10 to £60) – can anyone identify the correct part for me?
