ParticipantBosch WFF1201
Set on normal cycle this am came back to it to find cycle had ended but washing was still warm and dirty with first infill of water
It will not drain and will not spin
If i turn the knob it draws in water at appropriate times
Have removed washing , jugged out dirty water from drum and removed drain plug where dirty water came out plus some fine black dust was around the inside
Hence i gather the pump is not blocked
I understand from your help files its unlikely to be belt
have yet to try and checkwould i be correct in thinking its likely the motor brushes ?
any other help gratefully received as mere very practical female pensioner with more than limited income

the propeller in the pump turns with my fingers when i have the drain plug unscrewed
so presumably its Ok how else do i check
Need to check the carbon brushes on the motor next i guess although so far not located them visually and not sure i want to try removing the motor
would there not have been other symptoms to indicate a failure of parts because the machine worked fine last time i used it
i guess its around 9 yrs oldJuly 13, 2014 at 9:23 am #416601diyisgreat

Anyone know what the carbon brushes look like on these motors cos theres no red bars either side
all i can see is 2 little brass clip type things with a wire
one either side of the motor maybe thats them ?its a WFF1201GB/01 model from thev plate on the back and seems compatible carbon brushes are ES1019979 on whitefoods website

To test if the pump works just remove the filter cover, put on a spin or drain only cycle, switch on and see if it turns?
Carbon brush location? You’ve figured that already, brass things, wire hanging out. Go for it! 😉

found the receipt i bought this machine in 1998
so guess it could be the carbon brushes
cant get the back of the machine to make life easier as its a large grey plate over the whole back and they look like phillips screws but their not

pump is spinning ok and sounds perfectly normal …………..but then in few seconds i get odd noise
would that be the motor not happy due to carbon brushesJuly 13, 2014 at 6:53 pm #416606Martin
