ParticipantCustomer tells me the bottom Basket washes fine, the top baskets coming out dirty, I ran it on a wash cycle, heats ok, top arm is moving, can see water dripping out of arm, not sure whats causing this, any pointers would be helpful. john

Water separator (also known as diverter valve) fails regularly on Smeg dishwashers; usually they leak and short out the position switch on the diverter. I’ve also had some just stopping as well.

Trying to look up the diverter Valve (not listed) is this built into to circulating motor. !! or part number if I missed it. .please. john

no diverter valve on that one, just a straight run from the circ pump to the arms. Assuming arm is not split and opening up under pressure then god knows.

its shown on the diagram Steve but with no number to refer to.
Rocker ,check if the spray arm has recently fell apart where it goes on to the nozzle at the back and the cust has refitted it.

and what is this magic “list” you are looking at then Steve? Believe me, no diverter valve on that model.
