Integrated Bosch washer/dryer, fitted new element, now boili

Hi guys been out to a Bosch wis24140gb/07 integrated washer that the customer complained of washing to long, heater was open circuit, she told me that it was replaced approx 2 years ago, on inspection it’s was def the wrong heater (1700w) and open circuit, I proceeded to put in the new element (2kw) and thought all was lovely jubbly, now customer has phoned and told me that it’s going through the wash but the glass is very hot to touch, should I have left the original thermistor in as the new element came with one in, are they all the same?? Or do I have to tell her the board is goosed, any info would be appreciated,
