    Hi folks,

I’ve now been through nearly 300 separate posts, videos and “how-to’s” on how to fix this damn fridge, and nothing seems to work!
The problem started last week, with the fridge and freezer no longer cooling. A few hours later the fridge started making a buzzing noise when the door was closed. The compressor was also very hot to the touch.
Now, since then, I have had the compressor coils checked, and they are fine (19.9 ohms/32.7 ohms/13.8 ohms). Also, current is being sent to the compressor, but it “clicks” and does nothing (safety mode?!). I have since changed the PCB, and connected up a “same-version” brand new compressor and dry tested it. It did not run (despite there being current supplied!). And the board still buzzed. I have now removed the internal fridge fan (which causes this buzzing when the door is closed), and it is giving no resistance reading at all, so I assume it is dead? (I was hoping to bench test it, if someone could tell me which wires to shunt – I think its black and yellow together +ve, and then grey -ve?)
No error code when running the self-diagnostic mode (did have a Coolzone sensor error, but only when the Coolzone tray was disconnected and removed).
So would the fridge fan being dead cause the compressor not to run?
I have tried to a forced pull-down (test-mode, then one press of any button) but the compressor did not start.
Please, please, please, can someone tell me how to fix this?
P.S. I WOULD love to get an engineer to sort it, but unfortunately I live in the middle of rural France, and no engineer will come out!!
    Thanks in advance! 🙂

Oh, and I have checked the temperature sensor, it’s working correctly. And the thermal fuse, which is also functioning correctly. 👿

    Hi Barry

Have you tested the defrost heater ? also remember that you must disconnect the drain heater else you will get false readings

Thanks for getting back to me Brian.

I can’t test the defrost heater, as, having seen it should give a reading of approx 485 ohms if working correctly, my Fluke 7-600 only reads up to a max of 400 ohms! Doh!!
And my 1652C got nicked at a job last frikkin’ week! 👿
    Any workarounds?
And would this stop the compressor from running (also, wouldn’t there be an error showing up?)

    Thanks!
