I have a BOSCH SMS65E12GB Exxcel dishwasher and it wont drain correctly. I have replaced the pump and still the same problem.

The drain pump starts to pump then stops and keeps starting and stopping until I get a E24 error. I have taken the side off and disconnected the hoses and cleaned them out. I have connected a hose pipe to the pump side and run it through the whole system and it flows easily and clean.

With the old motor i have connected it to the wires and it seems to spin constantly like i would expect but when I connect the wires back up to the motor in the sump, it starts pulsing.

I am now wanting to throw it to the curb, please help

Try replacing the small reed switch in the matrix (fill tank) as that can cause E24 errors also. Cheap fix too if it works. 😀

Is that the little glass thing about a 1/3 way up on the heat exchanger (the large plastic tank on the left side)?

I have just had a look at that. Isnt that for the water temp in the heat exchanger? Everything works fine except the water wont pump out.

Yes yes. It’s a reed switch. Often that can cause the E24 (drain) error.

Is the default open or closed for the switch? I can unplug it or short it to test

I just read that the reed switch is a flow sensor. It is next to the output so i assume it is checking flow rates which is why the pump starts and stops? How do you change it? I cant see any screws or tabs to get it out.

You bend back the plastic flap then carefully removed old one etc……

    Re: Bosch Exxcel Not draining

Well I unplugged the reed switch and let it do a cycle and got an E14 error as your would expect. I then plugged it back in and ran another cycle and it worked correctly. I have now done another 5 washes and it is still pumping correctly. I am amazed that it is still working. Going to put it all back together and see if it still pumps correctly but looking good so far. Will let you know what happens
