    Dear Alll,
I would very much appreciate any help or advice on how to remove/replace the thermostat on this unit please should the stat indeed be causing the milk in the fridge section to go off.
I contacted LEC for some help and advice but all they could do was supply with a thermostat for the unit should I need it. Part No. 082622017,approx. £20 in total including vat and postage.

I cannot hear any motor noise from the unit at all. The 2star freezer section has, however, a small amount of ice in it even with the stat set to maximum.

    Many thanks.

    Dear All,
Apologies. THe LEC RF109 is NOT a fridge freezer but only a fridge with a built in 2 star cold section.Since my initial posting I have become aware of a possible universal type stat(RPG 9144) which may fit.
    Is this possible?

    Many thanks.

    Dear All,
In the rather surprising and disappointing lack of response to my query above, I note uk whitegoods are offering the correct thermostat (08262017)@£19.25 + delivery. For further technical info, on this part, not avaiable on the spares site, I am reffered to the forum section here.

Therefore, can anyone at leaat confirm the thermostat flexible capillary tube can simply gently be pullled out from the inside wall of the cabinet, as in other small fridges. In other words it is not secured by any hidden clips.

    Thank you.

    Dear All,
Due to the total lack of any response, I can only assume I am not using the site as expected/ontended. Then again, if I am indeed at fault,I would have thought at least one of the MANY moderators/experts in this section would at least have taken the time and trouble to put me on the right path.
In addition, this site actually sells spare parts, but potential buyers are advised they cannot supply any technical information re fitting etc, and are accordingly reffered to the appropriate UK Whitegoods forum.
What a waste of time that has turned out to be.

In closing, I will just add, I am a great believer in forums and indeed have profitted and learnt a greaty deal in the uensuing discussions on other sites.

Sadly, this is not the case here with UK whitegoods. It is by far the most unrespponsive, unhelpful set up I have encountered to date.

Needless to say , I will not persue my enquiry any further.

If my experience to date is anything to go by I do not expect any response to this post, but I certainly feel better in expressing my opinion of the prevalent unhelpful attitude.

Perhaps too late but nevertheless I will try and point you in the right direction but I need more information from you to begin with. You say that the milk is going off which logically would lead one to conclude that the temperature is too high within BUT this can be caused by a number of things, please respond to the following questions and I will give you my suggestions –
    a. Is the motor (compressor to us geeks) running?
    b. Does the motor feel hot to the touch?
    c. If you open the fridge door can you hear a hissing of gas?
    e. If it has a black condenser on the back ~ is this warm?
    f. Is there any cooling at all in the icebox?
    g. If the motor is running and does it switch off at all?
    h. Is the door seal in good order?

That’s for starters ~ look forward to your reply
