We have a SMEG FPD34PD which is icing up (clear ice) on the mid rear panel of the fridge section. This started with a blocked drain hole/pipe but this is now clear and fridge (but not freezer) has been defrosted fully on 2 occasions. This is a 2 compressor unit and both fridge and freezer sections appear to work properly and hold their temperature. The door seal is in good condition.
At first sight appears to be a problem with “defrost” mechanism but please offer your thoughts. If replacement parts are suggested please advise if they can be replaced by a “highly-skilled amateur” since access (at first sight) appears to be limited only to top panel (inside or outside) and the compressor area.
Many Thanks – Paul
