I’ve read on other forums that using vinegar, I’m assuming they mean a white vinegar in the fabric softener compartment.
Supposedly it gets rid of detergent build up on materials which is what leads to hardness of a garment (which was why fabric softener was brought about in the first place)
except it doesn’t coat the fabric with that horrible layer of grease like softener, just removes the detergent build up making the garment soft, plus without all them horrible chemicals.
this is great of course for towels in particular, but on the whole could save you a ton of money if you really like soft towels and is also great for sensitive skin because it stops residue build up on fabrics.

    Myths.

Weak acid in solution, almost no effect other than making the laundry smell of vinegar.

The grease in softener separates the fibres more giving the effect of a softer feeling on some.

I my opinion, neither should be required, no need for chemicals and saves even more money.

I wasn’t referring to the chemicals there.
