Very possible an earth leakage via the heating element, you`ll have to mega it to make sure though. Let us all know the outcome please.

Yes you might have to get heater warm to show leakage though.

Yes, your right Rograbbit. I keep getting these and other elements going down to earth slightly which mucks up the pcboard temporarily. Wonder why? Perhaps rather than poor quality elements it is the low water levels and that they are cold fill only, though to be fair most if not all machines from a distant past except older Hotpoints and Hoovers tended to be cold fill on 40 or less degree washing in any case. Or it could just be pcboards are microprocessors rather than just simple speed control units these days but this hardly answers the question; I suspect it is low water levels. Also, thinking about it, washing machine cleaners that foam- perhaps as the water turns to mostly foam the heater then goes wrong, to date I have no proof, but an interesting idea all the same. Anyone want to make a comment or two with their own thoughts on the subject?

one thing you may have noticed on the Hoover machines with the short heater at least, is there is no support bracket in the drum for the heater to slide under.
I have also been to several of these machines leaking from the heater and almost popping out, due to the heater moving up and down on spin, and wearing the rubber away at the edges.
Perhaps when this happens the heater is constantly hitting the outer drum breaking down the insulation inside. Not seen any scrape marks from the inner drum amazingly.
I always tighten these heaters more than I actually feel comfortable doing to try and minimize the oscillating.August 9, 2014 at 6:12 am #417430sce

I had one this week that the v shaped heater bracket has actually cut through the element from the element moving up and down against it!

I had this with similar (cannot remember exactly) random error codes and it was a slight earth leak on the motor. Heater was replace first with no result.
