I have a Bosch Maxx WFL 2450/01 circa 2001 which is tripping the fuse when set to any kind of wash. It will “Spin” and “Drain” successfully without tripping the fuse but trips out on any kind of wash including “Rinse”.

I read on another forum that it might be the element and the way to check was to try a “cold” wash. Unfortunately however it also trips the fuse on the cold wash. I timed it at 70 seconds into the wash.

Therefore I am thinking it may be something to do with Inlet Valves? Also could it possibly be a problem with the pcb? Any suggestions appreciated…

Almost certainly the element. Will need testing with an insulation tester to be certain

Thanks Andy. If it is the element why would it trip out on the cold wash though? Only I read that a cold wash would not trip a fuse if the element had gone – washing-machine-forum/bosch-washing-machine-tripping-fuse-box-t79892.html

Also we have another old Bosch which died from PCB failure a few months ago. Just wondering if we would be able to cannibalise the element out of that one? – its a Bosch Classix 1400 Express. Many Thanks.

An alternative if you can’t get hold of a mega would be to disconnect the positive and negative from the heater ( not the stat or earth), make sure they are well insulated so that it can not short out then run the machine. But if you are unsure leave well alone. If the machine works (cold) then you know it wad the heater
