Hi Guys,
I’ve tried searching high and low, but I haven’t been able to find a definitive answer.
I got a 2nd hand Tricity Bendix DH 101 dishwasher and after giving it a run, it has a lot of standing water in the bottom of it, the smell is INCREDIBLY bad.
We initially ran it and turned it off as we thought it was leaking – but the seal had just dried a little and wasn’t forming against the door properly, a quick wipe sorted this. We put it back on for a full ‘Normal’ cycle, hoping that it would wash and then drain away the standing water.
It makes a lot of normal noise, I can hear water being swooshed around inside, then it finishes up and goes quiet. But it doesn’t drain.
We bailed the water out of it to try and see if there was any obvious obstruction, but all the filters that we can easily remove are clean.
The drain hose is quite rigid and we couldn’t see how it would be getting pinched or kinked, it was cool to the touch except for right where it goes into the back of the dishwasher – though that maybe is just residual heat from the element? Otherwise it would seem water just isn’t getting to that pipe. There was no movement of water in the outside drain either.
Some people have said the motor goes both ways, so surely by that logic if it can pump water in, it should pump it back out? Or does this have a second motor for the drain?
Exactly what and where should we check for blockages before we get a new motor, they seem to cost about £55, and at paying £70 for the dishwasher already, £55 would bring us close to the price of a new washer.
Thanks for any and all help 🙂
