ParticipantHi folks,
I’m experiencing problems with a Miele G692 SC Plus dishwasher.
The problem started with the machine intermittently not completing wash cycles and would illuminate the inlet/drain light.
It now manifests itself as soon as the machine is switched on (even after being left off for several days) the inlet/drain light flashes 4 or 5 times before becoming solid. I clear the fault by holding the start button and start a wash cycle.
Here is what happens:
1. outlet pump runs for approx 20 seconds. (successfully removing any water)
2. circulation pump spins up (but dry)
3. machine displays same inlet/drain error lightThat is it! no water is being taken in (I have manually actuated the aqua stop solenoids and it allows water to enter the machine).
I have added water after the drain pump has finished its cycle and the circulation pump/impeller circulates the water (if only for a second).
I can only imagine it’s a switch or relay problem but am surprised the machine goes as far as running the impeller for a second or two immediately after removing all water.
Anyway, I hope somebody is able to lend me a hand, I am quite competent with these sort of things but do not know the sequence in which the machine goes through each switch/relay.
I find it most peculiar that the machine now immediately displays the fault.
Thanks in advance

Is there a high pressure switch attached to wash pump? Check this.

I don’t believe so, the aqua stop is rated from something like 1-10 bar and I have a pressure reducing valve on the houses water main reading 2.5-3 bar.
The only thing attached to the wash pump I see is the top solo valve.

Hi same problem with 7 year old Miele.
I have taken it out and removed the left hand panel, cleaned out the gunk in the water mixer and thought that would be it but ‘no’. I checked the flow switch (reed switch) on the left and that is OK. It is counting water in and out and calculating what needs to be done based on pressure/flow so sounded likely suspect.
Like you I switch on a program, the test cycle starts water in, some then pumped out, the main pump starts (dry) and within the first 15 seconds inlet/outlet warning light.I switched the pressure switch on the left of the sump because that measures water/pump pressure and I was told will produce the fault but no good. I am just resetting my old switch to try that (pressure for switch activation).
I have no hose kinks, 4 bar pressure have had all the pipes off and cleaned everything.
I’ll let you know if I crack it.
It must be something simple.
Regards

Hi again
I had heard about a stuck circulation pump causing this error and a special tool from Miele – look here – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_oQwa-0lQk4
Make yourself a tool, or call Miele for one. It will cause our error so is worth a go.
Good Luck!

ParticipantHello, I am desperate for some help with my g6620 dishwasher which is showing the red inlet/drain light and does not continue with any of the cycles. It pumps out as normal and then the cycle stops, I have checked the inlet filter and water valve solenoids which are delivering almost exactly 2.5 litres per min. I have replaced the reed valve which was working ok anyway I have now removed the main pump to verify the impeller is not stuck all to no avail, is there anybody who can check the pump is operating as it should whilst I have got it out or is there anything else you can suggest and by the way I have checked and the heater coil by the impeller works ok any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks in anticipation, John

ParticipantI have had similar problem on Miele G681SC dishwasher.
The high pressure switch attached to circulation pump was wrong. Membrane was broken.
After change the dishwasher working properly. -
