ParticipantHi,
I’m hoping someone can help. My Whirlpool ART 477/4 (856447715011) integrated fridge/freezer has recently developed a fault. The fridge seems to sit at around +9 to +12 degrees Celsius.
I have tried altering the thermostat dial, I’ve put it up to maximum but this doesn’t seem to have made any real difference. The freezer compartment seems fine sitting at around -20 degrees Celsius, this makes me think that the compressor is working fine.
I have taken the fridge/freezer out of its recess and cleaned it (although there wasn’t much dust anyhow). The auto defrost water outlet is unobstructed. I have played around with the thermostat dial as much as humanly possible. The seals around the door look fine.
Any ideas? I thought that perhaps the thermostat has gone and needs replacing. I have attempted to take the casing around the thermostat apart but can’t for the life of me figure out how to do it. How is it accessed?
Any help is much appreciated.

If it’s an air blown fridge the freezer maybe over iced preventing air circulation into the fridge. This happens when defrost cycle is not working. This happens due to sensor failure, heater failure or control failure. If your evaporation is not over iced it could indicate a fan failure or control failure of components used to divert the air into the fridge when req via the fridge sensor, which could be faulty and informing the control that the fridge is too temp when it is not. All those need to be assessed using a meter.

Hi
I have exactly the same issue and need to remove the cover in the picture to get to the thermostat to change it. Can anyone explain how to do this ?
Thanks

The most likely fault on this model is the thermostat.
To access the thermostat you have to squeeze the top & bottom of the light switch actuator and give it a good pull.
The screw is underneath the switch undo the screw and then you can remove the housing by pulling it forward.
This model is not the easiest to change a stat.
