    Have CATA built in combi Model BIFF50FFA the fridge is working fine but the freezer is not freezing at all Any ideas help would be appreciated

    I don’t know if anyone has any service info on CATA, I know I don’t. If not you may be forced to contact CATA to see what the score is in regards to support.

    I would need a photo of the appliance, I’ve never been able to assimilate model numbers. Having said that the same principles apply as with any other refrigerator. Check the evap its possible refrigerant cools fridge 1st or a diverter is fitted.

    Maurice100 here engineer called took one look at it and said since a frost free freezer with motor above top draw that it was probably iced up inside and suggested we switch off at mains to de frost for 48 hours . Did this and switched on again and freezer is now working ok

    It will work until the ice builds back up, l suggest you call a professional now before that happens, it’s easier to access components when not encased in ice. The only reason a frost free builds up ice is due to defrost system not functioning. If you don’t follow my advice and fill it with food you risk loosing it.

    You’ve paid money for absolutely nothing.
