    Dear all, I have just bought SMS65E38GB bosch dishwasher. I have a couple of questions please…
    The instruction manual appears to be generic to SM.. models and am confused which one is applicable to mine.

    The machine has a hose connected to the back of the machine which is attached by using a clip. How do I get this out of the clip. Per the manual it appears that I have to open the top of the machine. Should I remove the top of the machine at all if so it is not clear how? My machine would fit right under without removing the top in that case do I have to release the clip or can I just cut the clip?

    The manual says that the water inlet rate is 10L per minute. Should I get an AQUA control hose or can I just use the one (black hose) provided?

    You just raise the “clip” as per the illustration, pull it clear and place it in the bin. No need to remove the lid.(see photo attached)
    As for the hose, only use the new hose provided.

    Dear Martin,
    Thanks a ton for your prompt response. I have now removed the clip. As said earlier I am placing the freestanding under my counter. The instructions also has a pic about not leaving any space between the machine and the counter. Is this applicable for my freestanding as well? I did check in the shop while buying and they confirmed that the freestanding can go under the counter. Now I am concerned if this will work with a space under the counter and not having ventilation at the back.

    It should easily slide under the standard height countertop (86cms) without removing the dishwashers own worktop. An ‘air gap’ is NOT a requirement unlike a refrigerator (for example).

    Yes Martin, it very easily slides it and infact there is about 20 mm space gap between the kitchen counter and dishwasher top. The instruction says there should not be such kind of a gap. Hence my question is should I increase the height of my dishwasher so that there is no gap?

    By all means raise it if you so wish, no problem. The adjustable feet fully accommodate such anyway. 😀

    Thanks again for your prompt response Martin. Per the pic in the instruction it is mandatory not to have a gap. If it is not manadatory may be I will have the gap. Do you know if it is mandatory not to have a gap even for freestanding?

    It’s better NOT to have a gap, looks better and doesn’t collect a visible layer of dust either. 😀
