I have an Indesit D41 Dishwasher. Yesterday it blew the RCD several times until the dishwasher was unplugged. Today after gaining access through the bottom of the unit I found the inside of the bottom panel rusted in places, ( but then it is 10 years old). On the inside of the bottom of the panel I found the cutout switch and cleaned all around it so that it can work. But then on the lower right hand side when looking from the front there is pressure switch and close to it a pipe that is disconnected, but dies not seem long enough to connect to the pressure switch. This black pipe appears to come round from the from of the salt unit and is clipped in the centre if the front chassis unit. What is this pipe and what is this pipe and what should it be connected to, ot should it be just open to atmosphere?
It’s an overflow pipe, long since removed from the later machines as it often led to water running into the base. It is supposed to drain into the base if the machine oversoaps.
The rust could also be from the main circulation pump.
All base components will need checking for earth leakage with a suitable megger or multimeter.
