I’m looking for a free standing gas cooker, 600 wide, for my mum. She currently has what I would descibe as an old school eye level cooker.

All free standing cookers appear to have the main oven just off the floor, which is lower than the one she has today. Such a low oven is not suitable for the elderly when trying to get anything of weight in and out of the oven safely.

Anyone aware of a free standing cooker where the main oven is not at floor level?

    Thanks

    Hi

There are several ways you can do this 😉

First off would a double oven, top oven if that makes sense be big enough?

If not then she could go for something like the Gorenje GI62123AW which is a 600 wide large single cavity cooker where the oven would be at the same height as the one she has now.

Lastly you could remove existing cooker and put a tower housing in with a built in oven into it at waist height and add a hob into the worktop. This option would be the most expensive one though.

    HTH 😀

You can still get old school eye level free standing cookers which have storage compartments below the oven. This raises the oven more than modern cookers.

Also asked for an oven not at floor level.

We can’t always get what we want. I figured that maybe a compromise was possible. Sine the comment “all free standing cookers appear to have the main oven just off the floor”.

But hey thanks for pointing out my mistake.
