I have a twiline 2001 cooker CKG 21554 in conjunction with a New World gas hob. The ventilation for the oven terminates at the rear of the hob along its length which makes it vulnerable to objects falling down the opening.
Recently a strange whhirring sound occurs approximately 3 minutes after turning the cooker or grill on.
My assumption is that something is caught up in the fan at the rear.
    Could this be right?
When isolated at the electricity supply the whirring stops.
    Any ideas?

It certainly sounds like it to be honest.

Bearing in mind the cooling fan has a safety aspect to it, could I recommend that you don’t use the oven until you have asked an engineer to attend and remove the offending article before anymore damage is done either to the fan motor or other components due to overheating. The fan is very likely not running at full speed.

    Dave.

    Thank you Dave,

Strange that the configuration was deemed fit really when you consider the implications should anything fall down the back but I believe that New World were one of the first manufacturers to introduce a double built under oven.
